The Community Broadcasting Association is pleased to welcome you to the November 2023 content of our national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health.

Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.

With National Recycling Week just around the corner (13 - 19 November) we reached out to Planet Ark about services that recycle equipment and materials commonly used at radio stations. 

The 2023 Community Radio Awards were a reflection of a dynamic time for the sector, with a record 350+ entries from a diverse range of stations across the country. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners, and a big thank you to everyone who entered.

With the upcoming summer of extreme weather warnings, it's important for community broadcasters to be prepared for any emergency situations. Join CMTO Pathways and Partnerships Manager Mikaela Ford as she speaks to a representative from the Rural Fire Service about the responsibilities of community broadcasters in emergencies, and exactly what you need to know to help your communities be safe and informed.

The CBAA thanks everyone who made a submission and provided feedback on the draft Codes of Practice at the first consultation phase of the Codes review. A new round of public consultation has opened. We invite stations, sector stakeholders and the community at large to review the revised draft Codes and provide final feedback. The consultation phase will run for four weeks between Thursday, 28 September 2023 – and Thursday, 26 October 2023.
