Get to know us: Mere Saladrau
Member Coordinator, Mere Saladrau
The CBAA would like to extend a warm welcome to one of our newest members of staff, Mere Saladrau. Mere joins us as Member Coordinator where she will be the first point of contact between the CBAA and our members, providing support and guidance. We are thrilled to have Mere on board and look forward to watching her thrive and build lasting relationships with our members.
What drew you to community radio and thus to your role at CBAA?
I liked the sense of community unity, diversity and creativity. I spent a lot of my teens and 20’s in community radio stations and that’s where I discovered CBAA. I have always known from then the important role CBAA has in community radio broadcasting and aspired to work for CBAA at some point in my life and here I am now working as Member Coordinator!
What is something unexpected you’ve learnt about the community radio sector since commencing your role at CBAA?
I was surprised to learn that there is over 400 community radio stations across Australia! I knew there was a wide scope of stations and programs but i didnt realise the full extent so thats been a cool thing to discover.
You are offered a radio show - you can have any timeslot, play whatever music you like, discuss whatever you feel is of interest - what’s happening today on the Mere Saladrau Variety Hour Radio Show?
if i had my own radio show i would play R&B music, segments on well-being, movie reviews, concert reviews, latest updates on free community events in Sydney, vox pops, and i would also include a 15 minute radio feature on relevant topics.
