From the Embers finalist in the 2021 NYF Radio Awards

The CBAA is excited that two episodes of From the Embers have been nominated as finalists in the 2021 New York Festivals' Radio Awards, in Documentary: Environment & Ecology and Documentary: Climate Change & Sustainability!

  • Home and Housed looked at the millions of animals endangered by the bushfires and the people who tried to save them. Listen now.
  • Glowing Island told the story of Kangaroo Island, the oldest bee sanctuary in the world and home to one of the last disease-free koala populations in Australia. The island was scorched by fire from two lightning strikes. Listen now.

    Two episodes bring home bronze in the NYF Radio Awards Festival


    The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) is thrilled to share that From the Embers—a podcast series recounting the experiences of communities affected by the 2019-20 bushfires—was named as highly commended in the Podcasting category at Melbourne Press Club’s 2020 Quill Awards, announced at the annual ceremony on Friday, 26 March
