The Community Broadcasting Association is pleased to welcome you to the July 2025 content of our national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health.
Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.
This month, we learn about the work SafeSide Prevention does to cultivate a healthy, connected workforce that is ready to respond and supported when suicide occurs.
Following on from Men’s Health Week, we catch up with PANDA CEO Julie Borninkhof to find out about some of the challenges and issues men can face when they’re becoming a new dad.
We learn about the work the Australian Men’s Health Forum is doing to improve male health, including addressing the high rates of mental ill-health and suicide among Australian men.
We get an update on how the National Rural and Remote Suicide Prevention Program is addressing the issues faced by people living outside of metropolitan areas of Australia.
And we hear about the free mental health coaching Beyond Blue provides for small business owners or sole traders.
