The Community Broadcasting Association is pleased to welcome you to the September 2025 content of our national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health.
Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.
This month, we encourage everyone to get involved in R U OK?Day this September and to use every day of the year as an opportunity to check in with those around them.
We explore some free or low-cost options for mental health support for young people.
We hear how headspace Work & Study helps thousands of young people in Australia each year to reach their work or study goals through free tailored 1-on-1 support, helpful articles, and group chats.
We learn about the support and resources health professionals can access from PANDA when they’re helping new and expecting parents who may be struggling.
And we catch up with Dr Luke Martin from Beyond Blue to find out more about the connection between alcohol and mental health.
