Suicide Prevention Content for Broadcasters - June 2026

The Community Broadcasting Association is pleased to welcome you to the June 2026 content of our national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health.

Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.

This month, we look at new data from Suicide Prevention Australia’s Community Tracker which reveals that elevated distress is impacting the majority of Australians.

We learn about the Worker Recovery Toolkit, which provides practical, evidence-based guidance to help Australian managers to confidently support employees returning to work following a psychological injury.

We find out about the support that Motherless Daughters Australia provides to women who have lost their mum.

We catch up with Relationships Australia National Executive Officer Nick Tebbey to find out about a new report which shows the powerful role that relationships play in both protecting against and contributing to suicidal distress.

And we hear how headspace Work & Study helps thousands of young people in Australia each year to reach their work or study goals through free tailored 1-on-1 support, helpful articles and group chats.
