Suicide Prevention Content for Broadcasters - July 2026

The Community Broadcasting Association is pleased to welcome you to the July 2026 content of our national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health.

Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.

This month, we speak to Movember about the importance of checking in with and starting conversations with men we care about.

We catch up with Emily Smith, Peer Work Manager at ReachOut, to find out how the cost of living and financial stress are impacting on young people, and how they can manage these impacts and seek support.

We learn about the suicide prevention programs SafeSide Prevention delivers for government, healthcare, and community organisations to promote a healthy, skilled, and supported workforce ready to support people at risk.

We catch up with PANDA to find out how anxiety can impact on new and expecting parents, and learn about the importance of seeking help as early as possible.

And we find out about the R U OK? Conversation Convoy’s recent trip through regional Western Australia to help people to understand the important role they can play in looking out for their friends, family and colleagues.
