The Community Broadcasting Association is pleased to welcome you to the December 2024 content of our national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health.
Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.
This month, we catch up with the team at ReachOut to find out what young people can do if they find the holiday period stressful or isolating.
We learn about the importance of reaching out to new parents to ask them R U OK?
We find out about the importance of seeking support if we’re a new or expecting father who’s struggling with our wellbeing.
We look at the impacts of stress on our wellbeing and provide some practical tips on how to manage stress and prevent burnout.
And we learn about Everymind’s Ahead for Business program, a free digital portal that connects small business owners to tailored resources and tools to support their mental health and wellbeing.
