todayscountry94one - Most Popular Radio Station at the Tamworth Country Music Festival
todayscountry94one, the Gosford-based country music radio station, has taken out the 2012 Australian Country Music People’s Choice Award for Most Popular Radio Station at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
The Australian Country Music People’s Choice Awards Ceremony, held on Australia Day, is one of the biggest fan-voted award ceremonies held in Australia, recognising the efforts of country music radio stations and presenters.
In addition to winning the award for Most Popular Radio Station, Deano and Sgt Ron (todayscountry94one’s weekday drive-time duo) were also finalists in the Most Popular DJ category.
'It is a huge honour for a small community station such as ours to win an Award like this, especially considering we were up against major commercial networks,' says todayscountry94one Station Co-ordinator, Carmel Pickup. 'It is all pretty amazing when we have only had our long-term broadcast licence since April 2010.'
'The Chairman of our Board, Adam Harvey, also won a Golden Guitar for Best Album which was produced by fellow todayscountry94one Board member, Rod McCormack, so needless to say we are a very proud bunch at the moment.' said Dean Mackin, who accepted the Award on the night, along with fellow presenters Ron Trundle and Jane Kellaway.
todayscountry94one broadcasts from within the Central Coast Leagues Club and can be heard on 94.1 FM.
