POSITION: Sponsorship Assistant (casual)

2SER is a volunteer-driven metropolitan FM and digital community radio station with a small staff team and diverse programming roster. With strong local engagement the station has built a reputation for its independent talks and music programming, and valuable contribution to the industry through media training.

2SER have an opening for a casual Sponsorship Assistant to help grow the station's partnership and sales portfolios. The position will initially attract around 14-21 hours per week, based at 2SER’s Broadway offices in central Sydney.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage station partnerships and client engagement
  • Identify new leads and build sales pipelines
  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial B2B relationships
  • Engage existing and prospective clients, generating appropriate product solutions
  • Accurate provision of information to clients and partners, and maintenance of accurate and timely records of contracts and invoices
  • Use of a traffic scheduling system to arrange and schedule sponsorship messages
  • Work with operations and programming staff to ensure client satisfaction
  • Engage with station volunteers and contribute to 2SER’s overall culture

Selection criteria:


  • Client relationship-building experience
  • The confidence and tenacity to pursue leads, overcome obstacles, and secure contracts
  • High-level negotiation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical thinking skills
  • Self-motivation and being prepared to work autonomously under minimal supervision
  • Computer literacy, and ability to quickly learn new systems
  • End-to-end project management skills, and the ability to effectively and efficiently track progress of a campaign and respond as needed


  • Experience working in the non-profit sector or a genuine desire to join the sector
  • Knowledge of the music and arts community in Sydney
  • Some basic audio-production skills, or willingness to learn
