The Organisation

The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) is a member based, for purpose organisation that champions an independent and free media by providing a portfolio of programs that aim to strengthen the capacity and sustainability of over 450 community radio and media organisations.

Community radio plays a vital role in providing a voice for multicultural, First Nations and other underrepresented groups, as well as supporting independent and emerging musicians and communities not adequately serviced by other media.

The Role

Is integral in identifying and facilitating funding opportunities to leverage CBAA’s funds for its services and programmes.

  • Developing and implementing a grants framework.
  • Research, identify & maintain a register of external funding sources.
  • Developing & maintaining relationships to identify potential funding opportunities.
  • Manage existing grants.
  • Facilitate preparation & lodgement of applications & submissions for grants.
Your success profile will include:
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of grants, grant administration systems, processes & budgeting
  • Previous exposure & understanding of political & economic influences likely to impact on community broadcasting
  • Proven ability to engage with government, business and community
  • Ability to work closely & collaboratively with colleagues & build rapport with key stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal & written communication
  • Eligibility to work in Australia on a permanent basis
  • Experience within not-for-profit, community-based or membership based organisations
