2XXFM Radiothon 2013

enadmin, 8th May 2013

2XX FM has grown dramatically over the last year and is a force to be reckoned with on Canberra’s airwaves. But, the station is looking to turn it up a notch with their 2013 Radiothon, scheduled to run from Monday 27 May to Sunday 2 June 2013.

2XX FM will be running their radiothon as a Pozible campaign, a crowdfunding platform and community-building tool for creative projects and ideas.

Founded in 1976, 2XX FM produces between 14 and 20 hours of local programming every day. That’s 135 hours a week of local content, produced and presented by 2XX FM volunteers. Programs include everything from genre-specific music shows to environmentalist talk-based programs to ethnic language shows.

2XX FM serves a diverse range of interest groups in the ACT by providing a range of vital information and entertainment services which are not available from government or commercial broadcasters.

One of the guiding principles of community broadcasting in Australia is to support and develop local arts and music, and community radio is meeting this challenge and excelling. The amount of Australian music on community radio has never been higher.
