Kevin Walsh

Good Morning Country Host on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5am - 9am.

Kevin was born in New Zealand. From a very early age he compered local Friday night and Sunday Youth Club Dances. He toured as roadie/compere with Ian “Huey” Hewitson and his Battle of the Bands winning group Cellophane who were based in Wellington.

Relocating to Auckland, Kev shared a house with Rob Guest and worked for his band The In-Betweens. It was here he did his first commercial radio. In the early 1970s the lure of Australia beckoned and one of his first jobs was on the Indian Pacific. The call of radio once again caught hold after moving to Grafton in the mid-80s and it was off to outback Queensland for a stint as breakfast announcer. Returning to Grafton, he did various country music reports for 2GF and worked at the local newspaper The Daily Examiner as Promotions Manager, also penning a weekly country music column for 14 years.

Back in Sydney he joined the Overnight Express Crew on the CBAA network before joining the Good Morning Country team. Kevin produces and presents the Album of the Week segment and also presents the Community Radio Network's Spotlight program. He’s been involved with the Tamworth Country Music Festival as an announcer and judge for more than 20 years, the Gympie Muster as a compere and judge for over 15 years. He is also currently involved in radio in Taree and the Forster district.

Heather Farrell

Good Morning Country Host on Tuesday from 5am - 9am.

Heather and the team at Triple H in Horsham have long been supporters of Good Morning Country, so when the opportunity came to join the team in early 2022, Heather jumped at the opportunity to be part of the Good Morning Country crew!

She has really developed her own sound and style over the last few months and has made Thursday mornings her own in no time at all.

To catch Heather in action from our GMC Victorian bureau, be sure to tune into Good Morning Country every Thursday morning from 5-9 AM AEDT.

Helen Thompson

Good Morning Country Host on Thursday from 5am - 9am.

Music has always been a constant in Helen Thompson’s life, spanning a wide range of genres, with a particular passion for country music in all its forms, Australian, American, and the many branches that flow from them. Her love of music first led her to volunteer with 2YYY in November 2004, beginning in the station office before moving into production and on-air presenting.

After stepping away for several years due to other commitments, Helen returned to 2YYY around nine years ago and has been an active presence ever since. Her dedication to country music and community broadcasting also saw her join the GMC team in 2004, an opportunity she embraced wholeheartedly.

Through broadcasting, Helen continues to share her deep appreciation for music and its power to connect people and communities.
