Community broadcasters are invited to support Rail Safety Week by airing a 30-second Community Service Announcement (CSA) from the TrackSAFE Foundation.
Rail Safety Week runs from 11–17 August 2025 and marks 20 years of raising awareness about safe behaviours on and around heavy and light rail across Australia. Sadly, each year there are dozens of fatalities and injuries on our rail networks, with flow-on impacts that deeply affect rail staff, emergency services and the wider community.
This year’s radio ad features Australian actor and comedian Shane Jacobson, reminding everyone that trains can come at any time—day or night, and often when we least expect them. The message is relevant year-round, so stations are encouraged to play the spot not just during Rail Safety Week, but whenever it suits their programming.
