Celebrate Your Volunteers: Get Involved in the 2025 NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards

Community radio stations are built on the dedication and passion of volunteers. That’s why the CBAA is proud to support The Centre for Volunteering in promoting the 2025 NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards, one of the largest volunteer recognition programs in the country.

Broadcasters across New South Wales are encouraged to nominate outstanding volunteers at their station and help spread the word to their listeners.

Nominations are open now across seven categories, with volunteers recognised at 25 regional award ceremonies before the announcement of the 2025 NSW Volunteer of the Year by the Hon. Jodie Harrison MP. This year also sees the introduction of a new Emergency Volunteer of the Year Award, recognising those who help communities prepare for or recover from disasters.

With over 4.3 million people volunteering each year in NSW, their combined impact delivers an estimated $178 billion in social and economic benefits. Recognition plays a vital role in retaining and inspiring volunteers and your voice can help make that happen.

Here’s how your station can get involved:

  • Nominate your station’s volunteers for the 2025 NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards.
