From the Embers 2: Phoenix goes to Melbourne to document how the creative industries kept communities strong during the COVID pandemic by adapting to the unprecedented circumstances.

On February 6, 2022 near the small farming town of Narrogin, extreme wind and heat, coupled with a powerline spark in a dry pasture paddock, resulted in a massive fire. Only one house was lost but the impact on livestock and farmland will affect farmers years into the future.  

Ccongratulations to Christine 'Kix' Mwaturura on being the recepient of the 2022 Jesse Coz Audio Fellowship. Christine is an award-winning audio producer, writer and radio DJ originally from Zimbabwe. She is the host of the Afro Tun Up on PBS which was broadcast on the Community Radio Network for two years.

On the South Coast of NSW, the mega fires of 2019/20 destroyed one and a half million hectares of Yuin Country, killing countless animals, plants and insect species - some of which are now on the brink of extinction. 

From the Embers revisits the south coast communities, which are home to the critically endangered Swift Parrot. The community moved quickly after the fires to stop logging companies and urban developers moving in to destroy vulnerable species and their habitat.

The Minister for Communications the Hon Michelle Rowland visited Braidwood FM to see the station.
