Information for Stations Taking a Position on the Voice Referendum

Print

Each station may wish to take their own position on the Voice Referendum once they have considered the background facts and arguments.

The Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) has provided a non-partisan guidance resource for boards to help organisations have effective discussions about taking a position on the Voice. (The document is focused only on good governance practice and does not go into the details of the Voice). The AICD guidance outlines how boards of companies and not-for profits are approaching the topic and shares examples and insights from experienced company directors including:

  • questions for directors to ask when considering an issue like the Voice; and
  • advice on how to make a public statement about an organisation’s position.

Note: The AICD has separately published its own position and reasons, while recognising that its individual members may take different positions.
