WEBINAR: Running your AGM during COVID-19 - 22 September 2020
Advice on effectively governing your organisation during unprecedented times.
COVID-19 continues to impact all areas of operations within the community radio sector, and as we head into the time of year in which many of our stations conduct their Annual General Meetings, our webinar will provide guidance as to how a station might best conduct their administrative business remotely, safely, responsibly and in full compliance of our obligations. The session will include a presentation, links to further reading and resources and the opportunity for you to put forward questions.
Our session will look at:
- Use of technology at an AGM
- Financial reporting requirements
- Voting electronically
- Differences in legislation and administrative environment from state to state
Presented by: Jon Bisset, CBAA CEO
Prior to joining the CBAA, Jon has served in key leadership roles as CEO of the Public Relations Institute of Australia, Chief Executive of the Council on the Ageing (NSW) and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Fundraising Institute Australia. As part of his role, Jon is engaged in the evolving nature of not-for-profit governance and how best to steer organisations through troubled times.

*NEW* Resources - added October 2021
The legislation governing companies limited by guarantee, the Corporations Act, was amended, initially for a period of six months, to allow companies to hold AGMs through the use of technology such as video conferencing and to provide notice of those meetings electronically (for example, by email). This has been extended until 31 March 2022 under the Treasury Laws Amendment (2021 Measures No. 1) Act 2021 (Amendment Act). Read more.
You can also find updated guidance related to charities and your incorporated association via NFP Law.
