The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) is a leading member based, for purpose organisation. We provide programs and services that aim to strengthen over 450 community radio, local and independent media organisations.

With over five million listeners each week, community radio plays a vital role in providing a voice for multicultural, First Nations and other underrepresented groups, as well as supporting independent and emerging musicians, and communities not adequately serviced by other media services.


A key role within the CBAA, you will develop our data and analytics program to provide insights that support strategic decision making across the CBAA and help demonstrate the impact of the Community Radio sector.

We are at the early stage of our data journey, this role has the chance to shape the program and make a significant impact for our organisation and our sector.

  • Develop and manage our data & analytics program
  • Work with our technical data partner to deliver data infrastructure aligned with our priorities
  • Interrogate data to solve organisation questions and identify most meaningful measures of performance
  • Develop dashboards & visualisations to understand organisation performance
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to provide insight that supports their goals
  • Support our member stations to effectively utilise data
  • Previous experience in a similar Business Intelligence role
  • Experience with business intelligence analysis & visualisation tools E.g. PowerBI, Tableau
  • Exceptional analytic skills
  • Understanding of database and data warehouse solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to tell the story from data and make clear insight-based recommendations
  • Challenger mindset, demonstrated experience finding alternatives and new solutions when faced with obstacles
  • A curious mind, engaged when interrogating data to solve business questions & problems
  • Great communicator, able to translate complex and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven initiative and ability to work autonomously
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proven ability to develop strong stakeholder relationships
  • In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Client-side business intelligence experience

Some hands-on database and / or programming experience eg SQL, R, Python

Experience in using media & market research data within an enterprise-wide environment
