5YYY in Whyalla will celebrate a significant milestone on the 17th of March with Vice-Chairperson, Mr Joe Goll clocking up 25 years of service at the station.

Joe represents Whyalla's culturally rich European community with fortnightly radio programs, the English speaking 'International Rendezvous', German speaking 'Bunt Gemischt' and the Austrian Klingendes Österreich.

'It's an amazing achievement,' said Chairperson, Neil Burns. 'I've been with Triple Y for nearly as long as Joe and I know the invaluable contribution he has made.'

Joe's involvement with Whyalla's first FM community broadcaster in the 1980's includes placement of the station building and fit-out, landscaping and gardening, as a board member, Chairperson and now Vice-Chair, right through to his continuing role as a live to air announcer.

5YYY is happy to report that Joe has no intention of slowing down or hanging up his microphone just yet. Congratulations on a fantastic achievement!
