#GivingTuesdayNow - A global day of giving & unity

Danny Chifley, 21st April 2020
#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of generosity and unity, a day to come together and give back in response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19, no matter who or where we are. This year it will run for one day on Tuesday 5 May.

"We are acutely aware of the impact community radio stations are facing from the Coronavirus pandemic. Many stations are facing a catastrophic drop-off in sponsorship revenue. Helping stations to fundraise to support their station during this difficult time is paramount to what we do."

CBAA CEO Jon Bisset

#GivingTuesdayNow is a great campaign for community radio to drive an influx of grassroots generosity, listener engagement, business and philanthropy activation and support for your communities.

If your station has deductible gift recipient (DGR) status or charitable organisation with the capacity to receive donations, you might like to take advantage of #GivingTuesdayNow. The campaign also represents a good opportunity to touch base with your audience and supporters to let them know how their station is faring during this difficult period.

Call CBAA on 02 9318 9629 or email us to register your stations interest in participating in this fundraising activity before this Friday 24 April.

Fundraising Tool Kit to Help You

Once you register to take part in this campaign CBAA will guide you through the process to get the most out of the fundraising day. CBAA are working on a marketing kit to include marketing pieces and images, scripts for on-air promotions and frequently asked questions to fully utilise this campaign.

One potential fundraising way is to take advantage of Text to Give – giving your listeners an easy way to donate to your station – includes an SMS number with a unique ‘station keyword’.
