The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) is seeking Expressions of Interest to work with its national Digital Radio Project on a contract basis, initially through to mid-2021. Hours and location are negotiable.

The Digital Radio Project is a CBAA initiative with Federal Government funding support through the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications, administered by the Community Broadcasting Foundation (CBF).

The Digital Radio Project:

  • represents and coordinates planning for community digital radio services nationally, and establishes, operates and supports the transmission of DAB+ services
  • manages digital radio platform infrastructure, data connectivity and national network operation, and the payment of transmission access fees on behalf of community radio broadcasting licensees
  • provides ongoing support and coordination to community radio stations operating digital radio services, including data systems for service and program information and management
  • currently manages over 55 community digital radio services across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, Hobart and Darwin, with further regional services in planning stages.

We are looking for a person with developed skills and experience, an understanding and commitment to the objectives of community broadcasting, familiarity with community radio station operations, and strong written communications, organisational and interpersonal skills.

The capacity for research and report writing, familiarity with broadcasting infrastructure and broadcasting legislation, and a self-motivated approach to tasks and development would be valuable to the role.
