Community Broadcasting Suicide Prevention Project - September 2024
The Community Broadcasting Association is pleased to welcome you to the September 2024 content of our national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health.
Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.
This month, we find out about R U OK?Day (Thursday September 12), a national day of action when Australians are reminded of the importance of starting a meaningful conversation whenever they spot the signs that someone they care about might be struggling with life.
We learn about the support the Australasian Birth Trauma Association can provide to people who are struggling with their wellbeing following a birth.
We encourage you to get involved in LAP it UP in the month of October and to swim some laps to support youth mental health awareness and suicide prevention in rural and regional communities.
We catch up with Gidget Foundation Australia to find out why it’s important for more parents to know how and where to access professional support during the perinatal period.
And we learn about Everymind’s Ahead for Business program, a free digital portal that connects small business owners to tailored resources and tools to support their mental health and wellbeing.
Download the segments for your station to promote.
