CRN Fees
USING THE SATELLITE

The CBAA aims to deliver the CRN at a minimal cost, with substantial discounts to member stations. All subscribers are sent a copy of the monthly program guide (Commmunity Radio Network Newsletter). All programs on the CRN can be broadcast live or recorded and re-broadcast later. Subscribers can also use portions of programs on their station provided credit is given to the original program maker. For example, stations that produce their own environmental programs may use relevant material broadcast on the CRN to supplement their own program.
  • Member stations are charged quarterly, at a rate of 0.5% of gross income - with a minimum fee of $150/qtr (plus GST) to a maximum of $475/qtr (plus GST).
  • This requires you to supply up to date audited accounts to the CBAA.
  • If accounts are not submitted, stations will be charged at the maximum rate.
  • Part time aspirant members will be charged at a one-off rate of $150 per year (plus GST). Part-time aspirant non-members will be charged at the rate of $475 per year (plus GST).
  • Full-time TCBLs members will be charged at the rate of $300 (plus GST) in the first year, $400 (plus GST) in the second year of operation and each successive year until fully licensed.
  • Non-member full-time TCBLs may use the service at a fee of $800 per quarter (plus GST).
  • Non-members of the CBAA may use the service at a charge of $800 (plus GST) per quarter.
For programs on CRN you won't have to pay a fee other than the general CRN fee. National Radio News is the one exception.

PAYMENT

The CBAA does not charge for use of the 3 other satellite channels [NIRS channel 11, RPHA channel 12 & BBC channel 13] accessible via the same satellite receiver.

We invoice you for CBAA channel 14 use at the end of each calendar quarter for the following quarter. This invoice will be payable unless your form shows you're using only Channels 11, 12 or 13 . We charge you using your latest audited accounts. Please make sure we have these - otherwise you may be charged the maximum rate.

WARNING - LATE PAYMENT
If we don't receive due payment within 30 days, you'll get a reminder notice from us.
If the fee is still not received 51 days after the original invoice was issued, you'll be removed from using the CRN without further notice. You won't be reconnected until payment is received.
