Entries for the 2014 Walkley Young Australian Journalist of the Year Awards are closing soon.

Entry to the Walkley Young Australian Journalist of the Year Awards is open to employed or freelance journalists who have self-published or whose has been published or broadcast through Australian media outlets between 27 April 27, 2013 and 28 April, 2014.

Students aged 26 and under whose coursework has been submitted for assessment between 27 April, 2013 and 28 April, 2014 and verified by the relevant tertiary institution through the online entry system are also eligible to enter the student category, with eligibility for the main prize.

There are six categories:

  • Text-based Journalism
  • Radio/Audio Journalism
  • Television/Video Journalism
  • Innovation in Journalism
  • Camerawork
  • Student Journalist of the Year Award
     

Entrants go into the running for a trip to the USA to take part in work experience with CNN’s and Twitter’s editorial teams.
