Request for Tender – Structural and Governance Review of the CBF
From time to time the Community Broadcasting Foundation (CBF) seeks independent assessments of its funding programs and the community broadcasting sector initiatives that it supports in order to determine whether they are meeting the sector’s needs appropriately and in an efficient and cost-effective way. Within its Strategic Plan for 2013-17 the Foundation determined that as an expression of its commitment to best practice it would itself undergo review.
The objectives of the Structural and Governance Review of the CBF are to provide an independent assessment of how the Foundation can best structure its governance and funding programs to serve the needs of the community broadcasting sector in the medium term.
Consideration must be given to the policy objectives underpinning the Australian Government’s Community Broadcasting Program, the principles of better practice in grant-making, the Foundation’s intention to diversify its income sources and pursue Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status as expressed in its current Strategic Plan, and the broader development needs of the community broadcasting sector. Based on this evaluation the consultants appointed to conduct the review will provide recommendations as to how the Foundation should be administered and developed within expected resource levels over the next five years.
Submissions from suitably qualified consultants are invited. Request for Tender documents in relation to this review are available at the CBF website.
Tender submissions for this review must be lodged by 5pm AEDT on Monday 31 March 2014.
