To mark the national media industry launch of the new Mindframe resources for reporting of suicide and mental illness, Mindframe is running a grassroots media engagement strategy via a hashtag campaign using #MindframeMedia, encouraging media professionals to post a few words in support of the new resources via various social media platforms.

Mindframe are encouraging the community broadcasting sector to take a ‘selfie’, then post it to social media along with messages of support for Mindframe and the #MindframeMedia hashtag.

This will add some colour to the campaign as well as help to raise awareness of the new free resources which include a concise media book and associated quick reference cards, all downloadable here.

All posts using the hashtag will appear on the campaign page of the Mindframe website. Those who are not engaged with social media but still wish to support can get in contact via email.

The Mindframe resources, which support the responsible, safe and accurate reporting of suicide and mental illness, have been developed by the Hunter Institute of Mental Health in collaboration with journalists who sit on the Mindframe Media Advisory Group and senior representatives of the mental health and suicide prevention sectors.

Further information is available via the Mindframe website.
