Australia Day Honours for Community Broadcasters
The CBAA would like to congratulate those involved in the community broadcasting sector who were awarded honours in the 2012 Australia Day honours list.
Dr Lindsay Owen McMillan was recognised for service to people with a disability through a range of health organisations and employee assistance programs. Dr McMillan was General Manager of Vision Australia between 1981 and 1991, and National Secretary of the Australian Council for Radio for Print Handicapped.
Mr Mathiaparanam Ravichandhirawas was recognised for service to the arts, particularly through the Academy of Indian Music and Cultural Studies Australia. Ravichandhira was the instigator and producer of programs on Radio Station 3MBS FM, and former presenter of the Indian music program Ragas and Rhythms.
If individuals or groups involved at your local community broadcaster have been honoured in local awards, the CBAA would love to know. Please email office@cbaa.org.au or call 02 9310 2999.
