Community radio's national current affairs program The Wire is a great way to add some quality current affairs and talk content to your local programming. And the good news is the show is now running the full 52 weeks, so why not try it out over summer?

The Wire’s regular live to air shows run until December 13, and then The Wire Summer Series is on until the return of the live program on February 3. In December, The Wire team takes a month-by-month look at 2013’s events and in January, a theme-based approach. What were the big issues we discussed during the year and how are they shaping up for 2014? Climate change, public health, schools, water policy, arts and culture, mining, refugees, Indonesia, same sex marriage and social media are just some of the topics The Wire team will cover.

The Wire is our sector’s flagship current affairs program, produced by Radio Adelaide, 4EB and 2ser. In 2014, RTR FM, CAAMA Radio and Joy 94.9 will provide regular contributions, meaning it will be collaboratively produced across 6 states and territories for all stations in our sector – some kind of record. Be part of it!

The Wire plays live on the Community Radio Network satellite weekdays at 17:04 EDT/EST, with some stations playing the program on delay. Full programs are available to stations for automatic capture through the DDN system, and individual stories are downloadable from The Wire website.
