The Australian Indigenous Communications Association National Conference will be held from the 28-30 October 2014 at the Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort, Cairns, Queensland.

Amidst the radical changes to Indigenous Affairs, the AICA National Conference 2014 will convene Indigenous media professionals and sector stakeholders from around the nation to chart the vital next steps needed to ensure the future prosperity of the Indigenous media and communications sector.

This conference will provide a platform for sector stakeholders to share ideas, experiences, discuss areas for collaboration, and identify priorities for collective action.

The core focus of this conference will be Development Communication, which is the use of communications and media to facilitate economic, social and technological development. This concept provides a framework to Indigenous media professionals and organisations to identify the developmental achievements Indigenous media  facilitates in Indigenous communities.
