Commit to Community Broadcasting
The 2013 election is here - now is the time to tell politicians about the importance of community broadcasting. The CBAA is coordinating a campaign this election calling for $5 million in additional funding for community broadcasting and we need your help.
We are calling for $5 million in additional Federal Government funding for regional, rural and remote station development, training, transmission and community television. Politicians will also be asked to continue to include community radio services in planning for digital radio services and to further support Indigenous broadcasting.
We need your help to convince politicians to commit to community broadcasting.
Stations have been asked to write a letter to their local candidates. Station managers should have received a letter and email with an election toolkit. All materials are available to download here.
Listeners and supporters can let local candidates know that community radio is important to them by going to www.committocommunityradio.org.au. The website also includes station stories and details about the campaign.
