Becoming a CBAA Training Partner

The CBAA is Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and will supply stations with all the material you need to administer accredited training. It is the CBAA’s role to ensure the quality of the training and assessment which is delivered by stations meets the standards required by the national training authorities.

Stations deliver the training and assessment in partnership with the CBAA. A Memorandum of Understanding is signed between the station and the CBAA that outlines each party’s commitment to the training.

Learning materials and resources for the Certificate III in Broadcasting (Radio) have been developed by the CBAA. These resources provide stations with all of the learning and assessment materials needed to deliver accredited training.

What does the Station need?

People:
  • A qualified trainer/ assessor who’s keen to do the training work at your station (they need the Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment)
  • Someone at the station to co-ordinate the finances and administration of the training. This means making sure that all the policies and procedures of the CBAA’s Training Services are followed.
  • Trainees! People who are keen to get accredited radio qualifications.
  • Perhaps you have experienced broadcasters who want to receive qualifications without doing the training. They can enrol for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Things:
  • Space: studio and meeting room in order to deliver quality training
  • Resources: Training for Community Broadcasters (the resource kit on CD ROM developed by the CBAA)
  • recorders, computer access, and various other things needed for training

Commitment from:
  • everyone to see the training course and tasks through
  • the station to delivering accredited training
  • the station to providing a healthy and safe training environment
