Industry Practice and Program Management
Thursday 13th November 2008
Alice Springs Convention Centre, Northern Territory
As part of the 2008 CBAA Conference, delegates have the opportunity to be one of the first to complete an accredited training unit in either
Management or
Broadcast Training. Both units are drawn from the new Management Training course, administered by the CBAA Training Department. They are ideal for those wanting to increase their skills and knowledge in either area of interest.
Each unit, taught by a qualified trainer, is innovative in the way it is structured and how the course work is delivered. The course material has been developed specifically for the community broadcasting sector, enabling the content to be tailored to the challenges and experiences of stations.
Each course has limited attendance numbers, meaning students receive substantial one on one attention, guidance and support. There will be plenty of opportunities for participants to interact with each other through an online forum. Those aspects, along with the courses comparatively low-cost and the opportunity to tie in professional development with the CBAA Conference, makes it ideal for Station Managers, Board Members, Programme Managers, Administrators, dedicated volunteers and Station Coordinators.
The fantastic thing about the training units is the way they have been structured to maximise participants progress by requiring independent pre-course work, in-depth learning on the day, post-class work, as well as tasks to complete with their station. This also allows the workload to be evenly distributed, so as to make the assessments achievable.
Both courses are accredited (nationally recognised) from the new Screen and Media Training Package. Successful participants will receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment once successfully completing the assessment tasks.
