Secondary students are potentially the lifeblood of community radio, bringing in enthusiasm, energy, skills and vision. In a best case scenario they can receive training that adds to their school record. In South Australia this has been happening in a variety of ways, with stations working with schools and in partnership with Radio Adelaide. However it isn’t always so easy, as many stations struggle to manage the relationship between young broadcasters and some of their crew.
This workshop was a report on a 12-month pilot project funded by the CBF and managed by Radio Adelaide. Participants heard how it went, and worked together to draw conclusions for their own situation, on the possibilities of partnerships between schools and stations. |
