Northern Territory

CBAA Poster Final for web.jpg (76k)

The 2008 CBAA Conference was held in Alice Springs at the Alice Springs Convention Centre from the 13-16 November 2008.

Each year the CBAA National Conference brings together a diverse range of broadcasters to develop and strengthen the skills, knowledge and networks of the sector. The 2008 conference theme, Many Voices – Common Ground, acknowledged the sectors diversity in locations, station sizes, programming and community of interests, while recognising the similarities that exist and the need for stations to come together, both literally and conceptually.

Holding the 2008 CBAA National Conference in the Northern Territory lent a special element to the largest event in the community broadcasting calendar, with a fantastic opportunity to tour the many attractions of the area. It was also a great chance to focus our attention to the achievements and challenges of broadcasting within the region. The benefits delegates received from the conference, in terms of skill development, visiting a unique location and tackling topics of interest was well worth the distanced traveled.
