The Digital Delivery Network (DDN) works with the CRN satellite feed and can do quite a few exciting things for your station. After selecting your preferred programs on the DDN website, they will automatically record on your DDN computer that can allow later and instant replay of the very latest version of any particular program on demand.

The DDN Plaything Player allows for audio preview or the ability to replay audio files directly on-air. Production information like cue sheets are available via an on screen cart wall. Cool Edit is also bundled with the DDN computer.

To select programs for automatic recording via DDN, your station simply needs to log onto the DDN website each month. This can be accessed from any web-based computer.

A variety of content is available on CRN. AMRAP (Australian Music Radio Airplay Project) - a community radio initiative that is managed by the CBAA - have music tracks and segments that are broadcast on CRN and delivered directly to DDN computers for on-air replay. Segments like Music Correspondents are delivered regularly with cue sheets detailing what is in each segment. Music tracks will be updated regularly and the system will keep three months worth of current music tracks on hand for your station to use at any time. Music is available in Blues, Christian, Classical, Country, Dance, Ethnic, Folk, Indigenous, Jazz, Pop Rock and World music categories. For more info on AMRAP content visit www.amrap.org.au

The CBAA has so far managed the roll-out of the several waves of DDN computer equipment to stations. Decisions on the grant of equipment are administered and approved by the Community Broadcasting Foundation (CBF). If your station is interested in applying for a DDN computer ensure you apply before the CBF deadline.
