2SER 107.3FM turns 29

One of Australia's longest running community radio stations, Sydney's 2SER 107.3FM, begins its 30th year this Wednesday October 1.

The CBAA is offering a range of new courses to people working (paid or unpaid) in the management of community radio stations around Australia. Courses are available in program management, governance, people management, fundraising, financial management, marketing, compliance administration and more.
Community broadcasters singled out in frequency fiasco

The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) is furious about the proposal to move several community radio stations to lower powered frequencies. The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) plans to make channels available for ABC NewsRadio in four regional areas and community radio stations are being told they have to move frequency and broadcast at lower power.

2SSR: Tune in for some feedback

2SSR-FM community radio is on the lookout for feedback from the community. Listeners recently told the station through a survey that their favourite music styles to listen to were country, classical and jazz, but the station wants to know what else they can offer to entice more listeners.

3CR's Beyond the Bars Project (the NAIDOC Week prison broadcasts) have been nominated under Broadcaster of the Year in the Deadly Awards.
3ZZZ produces guide to community broadcasting

3ZZZ have just released a new DVD titled "Becoming a Community Radio Broadcaster - A Guide for Emerging Communities". This DVD provides answers to questions such as 'What do you need to do to become a Broadcaster On Air?'
