Satellite Advisory Committee

The Satellite Advisory Committee (SAC) is an advisory committee for the CBAA’s Community Radio Network (CRN). Nominations are invited from CRN subscribers biennially. Appointments will be made from the nominations received to fill the categories indicated under ‘Membership’ below. The CBAA Board nominates a representative from among its number to sit on SAC, and by convention, this individual is the chair of the committee.

The SAC makes recommendations to, and advises, CRN on issues relating to the programming of Community Radio Network, and acts as a forum for CRN staff, the CBAA, subscriber stations, program makers and the CBF, and as the appeal body for CRN programming decisions. There will be a rôle in program selection and assessment of existing programs. This will be done by SAC members through sourcing genre experts, calling for programs in areas of need, distribution of audio samples and assessment forms etc.
