The 2010 CBAA Awards

As usual, the conference will play host to the annual CBAA Awards, recognising the achievements of community stations and their volunteers, both on-air and off-air.

The awards are designed to promote excellence and to encourage and assist community broadcasters. They acknowledge the accomplishments of stations in their programs, initiatives or practices that increase their station’s capabilities or improve the services offered to their community.

This year we also introduce a new Award – The Outstanding Small Station Award for which all stations with revenue of under $100,000 may apply.

This new award celebrates the vital role that small stations play in the community broadcasting sector. They face all the challenges of larger stations with fewer facilities and people, so levels of initiative and sheer determination have a tendency to be sky-high.
