Community Projects
The CBAA develops and delivers a range of educational projects designed to provide listeners around the country with information on important topics such as legal issues, healthy eating, physical activity, energy efficiency, mental health and suicide prevention.
This website will allow you to find out more information about these projects, listen to some of the audio our projects team produces each month, and read some of the project newsletters.
Communications projects currently being coordinated by the CBAA include:
Community Radio Suicide Prevention Project
Provides a national audience with practical information on suicide prevention and mental health services and resources, as well as highlighting stories of individuals who have overcome tough times in their lives.
Drowning Prevention Project
Developed in partnership with the Royal Life Saving Society Australia (RLSSA), which aims to promote greater awareness of ways people can stay safe in and around pools, dams, rivers, the ocean and on rural properties.
Voices for the Voiceless
Seeks to promote greater awareness about animal rights and build the animal protection movement.
Your Rights
The ‘Your Rights’ project seeks to inform people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds throughout New South Wales about their legal rights and responsibilities, build their knowledge of the justice system, and inform them of the legal services and resources that are available to them.
Dementia Awareness Project
This project aims to promote a greater understanding of dementia, to reduce the stigma surrounding dementia and to empower people with dementia.
