AMRAP

AMRAP

Amrap (Australian Music Radio Airplay Project) is a Commonwealth-funded project that aims to create airplay opportunities for contemporary Australian music on community radio.

Amrap achieves this through the following initiatives:

Amrap Monthly Mailout

Amrap distributes ‘radio ready’ promo copies of new releases by Australian signed and independent artists to community radio stations nationwide.

The service is targeted and cost effective, removing some of the guesswork for artists and record labels. Artists using the Mailout receive information about every community station that received their release, allowing the artist to follow up and build direct relationships with stations.

AirIT

AirIT is community radio's online catalogue of new release Australian music, curated by Amrap.

AirIT allows broadcasters and music directors to preview tracks in full and order them for broadcast and for their station library. Music is delivered either digitally or via CD.

AirIT is currently available to record labels and unsigned artists using Amrap's Monthly Mailout service. From early 2010, Amrap will announce pathways for unsigned and fully independent artists to access AirIT.

AirIT is more than a point to point music distribution service; it is an online hub for community broadcasters. AirIT allows broadcasters to discover new music, share it with other broadcasters and see what's gaining traction in community radio through AirIT charts and like-minded lists.

Grants to Stations

Amrap provides grants to stations twice a year to help promote and develop contemporary Australian music through airplay on community radio.

If your station is keen to broadcast, record, profile or interview Australian musicians in-studio or at outside broadcasts, festivals, concerts or gigs, you should consider applying for an Amrap grant.

Program Promotion grants are the most recent addition to the Amrap grants program. These grants help to promote non-metro Australian music radio programs.
